1.The finest available mesh should be fitted which can be run without loss of whole mud from the front of the shaker screens.
2. As a general rule, the back two thirds to three quarters of the screen should be covered with mud. This allows for surges and rig heave when offshore.
3. Angled single deck units of the Derrick Flo-Line type are designed to operate with a horseshoe shaped pond of mud, concave towards the front edge.
